FARGO - If bling is your thing, then Gunderson’s Jewelers stands ready to meet your needs for baubles bright and beautiful.

The luxury jewelry retailer recently opened at 5601 28th Ave. S., and will celebrate with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, followed up by a grand opening celebration with live entertainment and hors d’oeuvres from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 4.

The 7,500-square-foot store is the biggest of Gunderson’s four locations, and features the largest independent Rolex and Forevermark Diamond boutiques in the nation.

“We always kind of lean toward smaller towns, where you still have that home-town feel,” store Manager Samantha Bergmann said Thursday, May 2. “Fargo felt like a good fit.”

Gunderson’s also has stores in Sioux City, Iowa, where it was started as a watch repair shop by George Gunderson, and Sioux Falls, S.D., and Omaha, Neb.

“We are very excited to be a part of the community. The expansion of Fargo was made as a part of (owner and CEO) Brian Gunderson’s vision for his family business. Gunderson’s Fargo location is the crown jewel of our stores and the stepping stone for what future luxury retail jewelry should be,” President and COO Breanne Demers said in a news release.

Bergmann said the store offers financing and has a wide variety of engagement settings for new rings or upgrades, and a plentiful selection of diamonds.

“It’s more about the experience. It should be fun. It should be something to celebrate the rest of your life,” Bergmann said. “We want to be there for the (important) moments and help create memories for people.”

Gunderson’s Fargo should have something for everyone, “and if I don’t have it, we’ll make it,” Bergmann said. “We have a lot of beautiful high-end things, but we have a lot of affordable things, too.”

Gunderson’s has six employees and an in-house jeweler, Bergmann said.
