FARGO-Barks & Recreation, a home-based business that offers pet sitting, boarding, day care and training, is poised to build a new facility in south Fargo.
The complex of approximately 9,000 square feet could be ready for business sometime in early June, according to Deborah Hemstad, who operates Barks and Recreation with Ashley Hahn.
Hemstad said construction on the boarding and day care facility is expected to start soon at 5126 51st Ave. S.
"We're very excited about it. We have a lot of plans that we're looking forward to starting at this building," Hemstad said.
One new service to be offered once it's completed is pet photography, according to Hahn.
Moorhead Flooring opens Fargo store
FARGO-A Moorhead flooring company has opened a store here.
Doing business as Fargo Flooring, the store is located at 1335 2nd Ave. N. in Fargo.
It is a sister store to Moorhead Flooring, which is located at 2311 U.S. Highway 10 E. in Moorhead.
Both businesses are owned by Dave Johnson and his son, Charles Johnson.
The stores offer flooring mainstays like carpet and tile, as well as specialty floor coverings like COREtec, according to Dave Johnson.
He added they also offer cabinets and countertops and do professional installation.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries seeks permit to set up in lease space
FARGO-Five Guys Burgers and Fries is looking to fit up a lease space for a new restaurant in south Fargo.
That's according to information provided by the city of Fargo, which has reviewed a building permit application and is awaiting more information from the applicant before deciding whether to issue a permit.
The work is planned for 4328 13th Ave. S.
A Lone Star Steakhouse once stood at that address, but it was torn down last year to make way for a new commercial structure.
Attempts to reach a spokesman for the Five Guys Burgers and Fries project were not successful.
Fargo's first Five Guys Burgers and Fries opened in 2010 at 2877 45th St. S.
There are also locations in Bismarck, Grand Forks and Minot.
According to the brand's website, there are nearly 1,500 restaurants worldwide and another 1,500 in development.
Study ranks Fargo 10th best city in U.S. for applying for credit card
FARGO-A new study ranks Fargo as the 10th best city in the country to apply for a credit card.
The study, conducted by the personal finance website SmartAsset, analyzed the credit scores, credit utilization and late payment rates of cities across the country.
In addition to ranking Fargo as the 10th best place to apply for a credit card, the study also found that the average credit score of Fargo residents is 703.
A good credit score is typically considered to be between 700 and 749.
Hatch Realty expands operations to Grand Forks
GRAND FORKS-Hatch Realty, a real estate brokerage that launched in Fargo nearly four years ago, has expanded its operations into Grand Forks.
Amber Flynn is now available to assist residents who want to sell and/or purchase home properties.
A resident of the Grand Forks area for 23 years, Flynn said it is going to be a privilege "to work with those who choose myself and Hatch Realty for their process."
