FARGO-Details are slim, but owners of the Vinyl Giant appear to be opening a new store in downtown Fargo this weekend. Vinyl Giant took out a $3,000 commercial remodel permit for 626 2nd Ave. N. the week of May 21st, according to city building permit records. Since then, Vinyl Giant has been teasing a new store on its social media accounts.

"The new store is coming this weekend," according to a Facebook post Tuesday, June 26. According to a press release from Gigamic World, the new store will be called Game Giant. Gigamic's release detailed its plans to bring a selection of giant board games to town for an event planned from 2 to 10 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at Front Street Taproom, 614 Main Ave., Fargo.

The Front Street Taproom also lists the Gigamic event on its Facebook page. It states that Gigamic will be bringing "table-sized versions of some of their best-selling games, often hailed as the modern classics of abstract strategy." The post went on to say the event is a joint promotion with Game Giant, "the new downtown hotspot for your gaming needs."

Calls and Facebook messages placed to Vinyl Giant were not returned.
