FARGO - Custom Express Car Wash has doubled down on its quest for clean coupes (and trucks, SUVs and sedans) in south Fargo.
The fast-service automated wash quietly opened in mid-July at 1702 40th St. S., just south of Marcus West Acres Cinema, General Manager Eva Oakley said Wednesday, Aug. 5.
It’s the second Fargo site for owner Jason Gehrig, who opened his other location in February 2018 at 4682 32nd Ave. S.
Oakley said the new wash is now running about 150 cars through a day, though she expects that will ramp up considerably once the economic disruption caused by the coronavirus passes.
It takes about two and a half minutes to clean a vehicle from debugging to drying with the wash’s 18 blow dryers (two of which are heated). Robotic arms also clean the wheel wells, Oakley said, though extra mud can be power-washed out. Use of the vacuum cleaners is free and there are treats for kids and pets, she said.
A basic wash can be had for $10 and the top-end wash for $18, Oakley said. Monthly and yearly wash packages are available. Detail kits are $2 apiece
Custom Express was named Best of the Red River Valley 2019 for car washes and detailing by readers of The Forum newspaper and Inforum web site.
