FARGO — StartupBrew Fargo will be held in a new location when the weekly entrepreneurial event resumes Wednesday, May 18.

Drekker Brewing Company will now host the event, which had been held at Fargo Brewing Company since last fall.

Mark Bjornstad, co-founder and president of Drekker Brewing Company, told The Forum Thursday, May 12, he is excited about the collaboration.

"We were really excited when they approached us with the idea and the long-term possibilities of the partnership. It fits in so well with what we believe in as far as community building and making a space for the entire community. We're just really excited to collaborate with them on their goals and initiatives and how we can facilitate that at Drekker and Brewhalla," Bjornstad said.

Between Drekker and its Brewhalla addition, Bjornstad said they can accommodate groups large and small.

"We have so many options of different spaces we can put them - indoor, outdoor, an open area or a private spot. We really try to shape a space to an event so we can control the energy and make it appropriate," he said.

Furthermore, Bjornstad said once the event moves to Brewhalla, attendees will have the opportunity to "extend their hangout."

"The event ends right around the time the Brewhalla Market is opening up. Everyone can go off and mingle, start early lunches, have meetings, kind of co-work in the space the rest of the day or afternoon. ... That's, I think, the whole point of StartupBrew is to get people together talking, collaborating and networking."

Construction of the Brewhalla addition is expected to be complete this fall. Drekker recently announced a number of businesses that will open in the Brewhalla Market , including Nichole's Fine Pastry & Cafe, Blackbird Woodfire Pizza, Thunder Coffee, Luna Market, Mangata Wine and Raw Bar and Duchessa Gelato.

Jim Manney, producer of the film " Tankhouse " and Miss North Dakota 2021 Reyna Bergstrom are slated to speak at Wednesday's event.
