A steakhouse franchise promising legendary food and service has filed paperwork to open a new Fargo restaurant.

Texas Roadhouse is planning a second North Dakota location at 4971 13th Ave. S., according to city Inspections Department documents. An opening date was not included.

The franchise opened a restaurant in Bismarck last month.

Texas Roadhouse is a moderately priced, full-service restaurant chain that offers steak, ribs, fish, chicken, salads and sandwiches, according to its Web site.

Many of the restaurants, including the one in Bismarck, limit operating hours to evenings during the week.

The company believes this allows the restaurant teams to offer high-quality, more consistent food and service.

Lunch and supper is offered Saturdays and Sundays.

The restaurant has a rustic southwestern lodge décor accentuated with hand-painted murals, neon signs, southwestern prints, rugs and artifacts, the Web site said. Jukeboxes play country hits.

The new Texas Roadhouse in Bismarck is going over "very well," said assistant kitchen manager Eric Ogden.

"The public has been very responsive. It's been all around real good," he said.

The restaurant's food is made from scratch, and the environment is a "totally different culture than anything around here," he said.

"Fun is one of our core values. Fun with a purpose," Ogden said.

Texas Roadhouse has more than 200 locations in 41 states, according to its Web site. The company began in 1993.
