FARGO - Suite Shots, a golf and entertainment venue going up in south Fargo, could be open by late February or sometime in March.

In the meantime, Suite Shots is co-hosting a New Year’s Eve bash at the El Zagal Shrine in north Fargo, with proceeds going to benefit Shriner charities.

General Manager Mark Johnson told the hosts of WDAY 970 AM’s “The Coffee Club” that the facility at 3400 James Way S. should have its certificate of occupancy in late January or early February.

After that, it will take a few weeks to move in equipment and train staff, he said Wednesday, Dec. 29. That would push the opening into late February or March.

“It’s been a fantastic, fun ride getting that thing built,” Johnson told “Coffee Club” co-hosts Paul Bougie and Janae White. Though the construction timeline remains “pretty dynamic.”

The temperature was at minus-21 heading toward a high of minus-7 Wednesday when the segment aired.

“People are excited. The talk is around town,” White said.

Johnson said there have been supply chain challenges delaying the building’s completion, including getting windows installed so work could be done on the facility’s interior, but “we’re getting there.”

Johnson said it will be about a month before a more certain opening date will become clear.

A New Year’s Eve party that had been planned for Suite Shots has been moved to the El Zagal Shrine at 1429 3rd St. N.

The entrance fee is $20 at the door with no advance sales, Johnson said. The event will run 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., with attendees treated to snacks, champagne at midnight, and live music by the Johnson 5.

Giveaways include hourly drawings for 2-hour Suite Shots Golf Suite rentals. Silent auction items include golf lessons with a Suite Shots pro, custom club fitting, and a “VIP Golf Suites” experience.

“Part of our mission is to be involved in the community,” Johnson said. “It will be a good time.”

According to the Suite Shots website, the 51,000-square-foot facility will have 60- climate-controlled hitting suits. There will also be five indoor simulation rooms where patrons can play golf or other games, such as football, soccer, hockey, hunting, and zombie dodgeball.

The facility will have a golf training academy and offer custom club fitting.

Suite Shots will also have a restaurant and bar, and banquet and party rooms.
