Rising Tide Software has been awarded an InnovateND grant from the North Dakota Department of Commerce.
The Innovate ND grant supports new and existing businesses in North Dakota with an innovative business concept. Grant recipients must demonstrate that their business has the potential to bring value to the North Dakota economy.
Rising Tide Software’s initial product is Major Incident Command Assist. MIC is a software application that helps law enforcement agencies work more efficiently and effectively during major incidents like child abductions and shootings.
Rising Tide Software is collaborating with the West Fargo Police Department to ensure that MICA meets the needs of officers in the field and incident commanders at police headquarters. MICA is currently in development with an expected release in the first quarter of 2020.
“We believe that MICA will save taxpayer dollars by shortening the timeline for resolution of major police incidents,” said Rising Tide CEO Chad Knudson. “But more importantly, we believe that MICA can save lives. The faster police departments can organize their response to a major incident, the more likely those incidents are to have a peaceful and successful resolution. You can’t put a price on the life of a missing child.”
In addition to receiving the Innovate ND grant, Rising Tide Software has also been accepted into the North Dakota State University Startup Incubator at the NDSU Research and Technology Park.
"We couldn’t be more grateful to NDSU Startup Incubator and the North DakotaDepartment of Commerce for their support as we are building our business,” said Knudson. “Their assistance with office space, funding, and business advice means we will get our product to market sooner.”
