MOORHEAD — 702 Communications has purchased Computer Wrench, a Moorhead-based firm that specializes in computer sales, repairs, networking and information technology services.

The acquisition was announced Monday, Feb. 3.

Computer Wrench is owned by Scott Guhlke. A post on the firm’s Facebook page said that as of Monday, it is operating out of the 702 Communications building at 702 Main Ave., Moorhead.

“We’re excited to welcome Scott, his team and all the loyal Computer Wrench customers they’ve gained over the years to 702 Communications. We launched our own managed service division just last year in order to serve our customers better. Adding Scott and his team is a great building block for that division,” said Brian Crommett, CEO of 702 Communications.

Computer Wrench opened in 2004. The firm services customers in 10 states.

“It’s a hard thing, deciding to sell your business,” Guhlke said. “I needed to make sure my customers would be taken care of for the long term. 702 and Computer Wrench share the same philosophies when it comes to customer service, and 702 being a local Moorhead company was important to me.”

702 Communications began serving the community in 1999. Today, the firm offers broadband internet, phone service, networking, data storage and managed services throughout Fargo-Moorhead and in Wahpeton, N.D.
