WEST FARGO — A new restaurant in West Fargo is looking to make pigs fly during the pandemic.
The Piggy BBQ, a restaurant based out of Walker, Minn., welcomed customers to its new spot next to Nothing Bundt Cakes Thursday, May 7.
The restaurant, 816 24th Ave. E., is open for dine-in customers, but about 30% of business has come from takeout and curbside pickup, according to co-owner Amy Ysteboe.
Ysteboe, who owns the restaurant with her husband and her mom, said although The Piggy BBQ may be opening during a tough time, she hopes to get a full dining room soon.

"I was a little nervous signing for such a big beautiful restaurant, and my husband was like: 'What's the worst that could happen?' I guess I never thought of a pandemic," she said.
Ysteboe said even though the restaurant isn't operating at full capacity, she was happy to see a smooth flow of customers on day one.
"When you create something so great, you don't want people (to not) be able to see it," she said.
