FARGO — Tuesday, Nov. 26 kicks off the first official week of business for a new shop in town.
The Wig Suite by Whitney is new to the Block 6 building on Main Avenue downtown, but it’s not the first business venture its owner is known for.
Whitney Walker has started three businesses in the last two years. She’s the owner and operator of the Texas Best Express food truck, Beauty Bar by Whitney and now The Wig Suite by Whitney .
"It's so rewarding, it's refreshing. It is tiresome. It is lonely," said Whitney. "But, it is the most gratifying thing I've ever done."
Almost exactly a year ago, WDAY First News Anchor Sarah Rudlang interviewed Walker about the start of her beauty bar. That business offers skincare services such as facials, waxing, eyelash extensions, makeup and more. It’s similar to a regular salon, minus the hair.

Hair is the focus of her shop.
“We house synthetic and human hair wigs,” Walker said. “We also have synthetic hair pieces, human hair pieces and pieces for men as well."
Walker is known and appreciated for her food truck’s “crunchy dogs” and her eye for makeup and skin care. But she knew she wanted something more from her next endeavor.
"I needed to have a beneficial cause other than just fashion and beauty,” Whitney said. “So what better way then to restore beauty to people who may feel they have lost it."
Whitney says 15% of the her entire sales will be donated to the Roger Maris Cancer Center for the months of November and December.
