State Bank and Trust has hired Joel Thomsen as executive vice president of the trust and investments division and Alyson Bjornstad has been hired as a private banking officer.
Thomsen graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. A certified public accountant, he has been in the public accounting industry for 10 years, most recently as a partner at Eide Bailly where he led the Nationwide Insurance division and local audit department.
Bjornstad graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in economics and has a master's degree from the University of Mary. She has been in banking for seven years and previously served as branch manager of State Bank and Trust's Time Square location in Fargo.
She worked in private banking at Signature Bank in Minnetonka, Minn., before rejoining State Bank.
