Vella Kids is expected to open its storefront Sept. 25, while the opening date for Hairology has not yet been made public.
FARGO - West Acres is filling a couple of storefronts this fall.
Vella Kids Boutique is planning to hold the grand opening of its first storefront Sept. 25 in the JCPenney wing, while Hairology, a full-service beauty salon, will move into the space formerly occupied by Regis Salon. An opening date for the salon has not been announced.
“We are growing and opening a storefront really soon! Drop a if you want an invite to our Sip & Shop private event before our grand opening,” Vella Kids announced Tuesday, Sept. 14, on its Facebook page.
West Acres followed that announcement with more details on Wednesday, Sept. 15.
“We are so excited to announce that Vella Kids Boutique, a locally-owned baby and children's boutique, will hold the grand opening of their very first storefront on September 25th, in the JCPenney wing!” the mall said on its Facebook page.

“What started as our chosen pop-up business for The Local Collective by West Acres concept, quickly turned into a decision to become a longer-term tenant, and we couldn't be more excited to add this baby and kids apparel and accessories boutique to the West Acres family! Please join us in welcoming and congratulating them,” the mall’s Facebook post said.
The Hairology announcement was made Monday, Sept. 13, by West Acres, also through Facebook.
“Something beautiful is on its way! We can't wait to welcome Hairology, a full-service beauty salon, to West Acres later this year!” the mall announced.
Hairology offers haircuts, colors, perms, styles and waxes.
“We are so excited for local owner Kelsey (McCoy) and her team to bring this new salon to the west side of the mall, in the former Regis space,” the mall announced. McCoy had been the manager of the Regis Salon.
The Local Collective was started earlier this year by West Acres. It is a 1,700-square-foot pop-up retail space that temporarily houses a rotating schedule of local and regional retail businesses. The space gives business owners the opportunity to see what it's like to run a brick-and-mortar shop.
Interested entrepreneurs can apply to test drive what it's like to operate a shopping center retail space before committing to the inventory and staffing demands of a long-term lease.
The Local Collective is in the JCPenney wing in the space that was previously home to Minn-Dak Market. The market moved into the former Gap Kids space, which was shuttered as part of the corporate retailer's plan to close 350 Gap and Banana Republic stores across North America by 2023.
