Grand Forks' newest grocery store opened its doors this morning.

A few minutes before 8 a.m., Hornbacher's, located at 2771 32nd Ave. S., officially opened its first store outside the Fargo-Moorhead area. The store, which includes a floral department and fresh sushi, takes the place of Super One Foods.

Hornbacher's announced in June it would acquire the Super One store, which was owned by Duluth-based Miner's Inc. The 60,000 square-foot store went through a complete remodel after Super One closed in early August.

Hornbacher's opening brings new competition to the local grocery store chain Hugo's and big box stores such as Target and Wal-Mart.
