FARGO-A women's clothing boutique has moved 20 blocks west.
Laurie's held a soft opening Tuesday, Sept. 20, at its new location, 3265 45th St. S., and celebrated its grand opening with a Joseph Ribkoff trunk show Friday, Sept. 22.
Owner Kristi Larkin said the move gives the boutique 2,400 square feet of space. That's about double its previous location in the South Creek Center, 2511 Kirsten Lane S, and she said it means Laurie's can now offer "a better shopping experience."
The store moved from West Acres Shopping Center to its former spot as Larkin joined in 2008 before she bought the business in 2010 from original owner Laurie Chatham.
It wasn't just a bigger store that prompted her to move and become the first business to open at The Shoppes at BLU Water Creek complex. Another women's boutique, Leela & Lavender, will open there this fall.

A Cutting Edge Gallery of Jewelry has been just south of The Shoppes since June. Rejuv Medical Aesthetic Clinic is in the area now, and Hair Success Salon & Day Spa will open there later this year.
"A lot of the businesses that were near that corridor where I was had already made the decision to move this direction," she said. "We felt with the growth and traffic this direction, even though it wasn't that far of a move, it still made sense."
Laurie's is open Monday through Saturday. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/lauriesfargo .
