JAMESTOWN — Ian Busche won the individual championship and Bowman County earned the team title at the Class B Boys Cross Country Championships on Friday at the Parkhurst Recreational Area.
Busche, a Beulah Hazen senior, finished the 5-kilometer course in 16 minutes, 23 seconds, 10 seconds ahead of second-place Christian Brist, a Hillsboro-Central Valley sophomore (16:33). Kindred senior Ethan Schaffer was third in 16:34, Bowman County junior Austin Wanner was fourth in 16:40 and Killdeer senior Owen Duttenhefner was fifth in 16:48.
Bowman County's five scoring runners placed in the top 22 and their 58 points won the championship. New Town was second with 101, Kindred was third with 108, Hillsboro-Central Valley was fourth with 134 and Beulah Hazen was fifth with 214.
