College baseball: Bison complete sweep of Flyers in Dayton

Powered by a six-run first inning, NDSU won its fourth-straight game over Dayton and fifth-straight overall.

DAYTON, Ohio — Six first-inning runs powered the North Dakota State baseball team to a 9-3 win over Dayton on Tuesday.

The Bison won four straight against the Flyers and have won five straight overall.

NDSU improved to 11-3 overall and begins Summit League play Friday at Western Illinois in Macomb, Illinois.

On Tuesday, the Bison's Jake Malec and Zach Solano both had two hits and drove in a pair of runs. Noah Dehne scored twice.

Nine pitchers stepped on the mound for the Bison. Zach Smith got the win in 1.1 innings of work and he improved to 2-0.
