This picture of an old chair made in Norway ran here last year.
It is owned by Barb Olson, Moorhead, whose son, Joel Olson, Fargo, wondered if anyone else has an old Norwegian chair such as this.
That brought a note from Willard Hiebert, Moorhead, who wrote, "Several years ago I restored an old rocking chair that has a similar but smaller leather patch on the back. The picture looks like a scene in an old European pub or inn.
"It was filthy and broken when we got it from my wife's uncle. He was 100 percent of Swedish extraction.
"I'm not sure where he got it.
"We still have it," Willard says.
The original story about the old chair said it had once been owned by a member of a Fargo-Moorhead sewing club, which included Sue Fienie among its members.
That brought an email from Terryl (Tvedten) Wharton, who said the name should be Sue Venie, not Fienie. "I am in email contact with Sue's granddaughter," she says.
Terryl was a Fargo resident from 1947 to 1966 and now lives in Gainesville, Ga.
She is a niece of the late Fred Schlanser and the daughter of the late Halvor Tvedten, both of Fargo.
