63rd annual Pancake Karnival goes virtual

FARGO— Get your spatulas ready, the 63rd annual Pancake Karnival is going virtual this year due to the pandemic.

The Fargo Kiwanis club is switching it up, and putting on a 'breakfast cooking showcase' instead. Three of the best local chefs will show you how to prepare a great breakfast featuring pancakes.

It will air on WDAY XTRA and stream online February 20.

It typically see upwards of 10,000 people each year.

"Our tagline for the Pancake Karnival is 'we flip for kids' and we do not want to stop flipping for kids just cause there's pandemic. We want to forge though that and continue helping kids as much as we could," said Pancake Karnival Gregory Wald.

The Kiwanis are hoping to to raise between $50,000 and $60,000 to help local kids in need.
