FARGO — Following guidance from the North Dakota Department of Human Services and Aging Services Division, Valley Senior Service will keep its meal sites closed to the community until at least July 31.
Seniors still have a variety of services at their disposal, including drive-thru and pick-up meals, Meals on Wheels, metro senior rides and county public transit.
Drive-thru is available at the Broadway Station and pick-up meals are available at Trollwood, Ed Clapp and West Fargo High Rise. Seniors are asked to call the meal site nearest to them and sign up in advance. Those who cannot get to a meal site can register for Meals on Wheels by calling 701-293-1440.
Valley Senior Services also asks that anyone who is healthy and able register to help Meals on Wheels by calling 701-356-1431.
Seniors can schedule metro senior rides for appointments, shopping or personal needs in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Seniors are asked to call 701-356-7433 at least three to five days in advance to schedule a ride. Vans can only accommodate one passenger at a time, with exceptions made for married couples or families.
County public transit can be arranged by calling one of the county offices or visiting ValleySeniorServices.org. County public transit can accommodate a maximum of four passengers.
These changes are being implemented in Cass County, Ransom County, Richland County, Sargent County, Steele County and Traill County.
