FARGO — Currently the region's unemployment rate is only 2.5%, with 6,370 open jobs.
Among those, are jobs at stores like Spirit Halloween, a seasonal holiday store on 13th Avenue in Fargo.
Similar stores have also started to resume operations, and at a tough time, with some jobs offering more than $20 per hour with little to no experience.
"Employers who are looking to hire these, very in demand retail workers right now," said Carey Fry, Workforce Center Manager at Job Source North Dakota. "You know, they need to offer flexible scheduling, they need to pay them a competitive wage to what they could get elsewhere."
Fry explains that because most season jobs are only operational for a limited amount of time each year, employers they need to target the types of workers they're looking for.
"Since it is temporary, maybe somebody who wants extra holiday cash. So maybe someone who's retired would be a good place to look, or students are a great place to look for that," said Fry.
For those still looking for work, North Dakota will be hosting its Multi-Industry Job Fair at the Delta Hotel in Fargo, Oct. 6, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
