FARGO — Bethany Retirement Living announced 17 local seniors have been nominated for its 2020 Senior of the Year award.
The Senior of the Year awards event will take place virtually on Thursday, Sept. 24.
Nominees include Gloria Adelman, Debra Ball-Kilbourne, Donald Birmingham, Lowell Bolger, Donna Chalimonczyk, Gary Clark, Yvonne Condell, Paul “Otto” Ferrie, Charlotte Grant, Susan Johnson, Geraldine Juran, Thomas Kirchoffner, Frank Lenzmeier, Rod McLarnan, Marvin Nicklay, Mary Sinner and Evert Van Engelenhoven.
The award recognizes those over the age of 65 who have "made an outstanding contribution to enrich the social, cultural or civic life of our community," a news release stated.
Categories for Senior of the Year awards include business person, community involvement, education/arts, faith and healthcare/wellness.
