Brave the Shave to hold telethon fundraiser for cancer patients

InForum News Brief FSA

FARGO — Each spring in North Dakota, heads are shaved in honor of kids with cancer during the Brave the Shave events across the state to raise money for children and families impacted by cancer.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all of this year's events had to be canceled, resulting in Brave the Shave losing the majority of its fundraising sources.

"Now, more than ever, is when we need to support these families. We’re estimating we’ll be $300,000 down in funding this year," Mike Eggl, Brave the Shave founder, said in a press release.

To help lessen the blow, event organizers have teamed up with KFYR-TV to hold an all-day Brave the Shave telethon on April 28. KFYR-TV will incorporate live Brave the Shave updates all day throughout each of its broadcasts. Additionally, the Brave the Shave Facebook page will have live trivia, updates and more.
