MOORHEAD — Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership will host its first agency-wide fundraiser, "Paint It Forward," from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the Rourke Art Museum, 521 Main Ave.

CAPLP’s mission is to eliminate poverty by empowering families and engaging communities.

CAPLP works with each individual and family to overcome their unique obstacles. Many barriers prevent those in poverty from achieving success. Some families need kitchen utensils to cook dinner, towels, or other household goods. Others need uniforms for their new job, child care, or transportation to get to work. Each situation is different and CAPLP strives to help every family move from barely surviving to fully thriving. The funds raised will help fill these gaps to better serve those who need us most. All funds will stay local to help people and change lives in our community.

‘Paint It Forward’ attendees will enjoy appetizers from Saigon Kuisine while they admire collaborative artwork by those CAPLP serves, local artists and supporters. CAPLP will raffle the artwork and have games for guests to enjoy while they learn about our programs and services. The event will also feature a cash bar and a plethora of prizes.

Tickets to the event are available at caplp.eventbrite.com
