MOORHEAD — Churches United is launching their second annual Adopt-a-Kiddo campaign, asking for donations to prepare the students who live at Micah's Mission and Bright Sky Apartments for the school year.
Donors will get a list of school supplies and clothing items they can buy to help make sure students feel confident going into class.
Hannah McMeekin, the volunteer and donations coordinator, said, "We are looking to provide kits with new clothing to go to school in, not just a backpack and supplies, because we want them to feel confident and feel good going back to school."
They're asking for donations to help the over 80 children they house. McMeekin said the campaign was extremely successful last year.
"We had a back-to-school fair for the kids, and all of them got their new backpacks and their new clothing. They were all wrapped up, so they got to open up their new clothes and see all of their supplies," she said.
