MOORHEAD - Elder law students from Minnesota State University Moorhead will present an informational session on Minnesota health care directives at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 12, in the community room at River Pointe of Moorhead, 2401 11th St. S.
Students will be available to prepare a health care directive for a limited number of Minnesota residents following the session. The process will involve two additional meetings with the students.
Students are supervised by a licensed attorney and are offering this opportunity as part of an academic service learning project at no cost for residents.
A health care directive is an important legal document that can name someone to make health care decisions for another person and may also give instructions as to what types of treatments someone wants if they become unable to communicate or make their own decisions.
To register, call Deb Kukowski at 218-477-5806. Enrollment is limited.
