FARGO - The North Dakota State University libraries will host an event for National Suicide Prevention Week from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the main library, 1201 Albrecht Blvd.

The purpose of this event is to recognize suicide and to get information out to inform people of ways they can help prevent it from happening. There will be take-home resources available on ways to prevent suicide, along with materials available from NDSU Libraries on mental health. Attendees can write the names of those who have been taken from them by suicide in remembrance.

National Suicide Prevention Week is Sunday, Sept. 9 through Saturday, Sept. 15 and September is Suicide Prevention Month. This year, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is promoting its new campaign, BeThe1To, which provides five action steps for talking to someone who may be at risk for suicide.
