FARGO — The United States District Court for the District of North Dakota announced a ceremony for the naturalization of new citizens will take place in Fargo.
The event will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Sanctuary Events Center, located at 670 Fourth Ave. N. The ceremony is open to the public.
Katherine Dachtler, a member of the Grand Forks City Council, will be the featured speaker. She came to the U.S. from South Korea as a child. Fifth grade students from Fargo Oak Grove Elementary will sing at the event.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Alice R. Senechal will preside over the ceremony where an estimated 150 new citizens from over 40 different countries will take the oath of allegiance.
