BISMARCK — The CHI North Dakota Violence Prevention Program is hosting its 2021 Spotlight on Prevention Summit from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 10.
The virtual event is free and will bring together professionals and community members from across the state.
The summit will feature Dr. Alan Berkowitz, a noted scholar, researcher, public speaker and founding figure in the development of Social Norms Theory. Berkowitz has over 25 years of experience in higher education as a trainer, psychologist, faculty member and counseling center director. He is a leader in Social Norms Theory research and implementation of the model.
The event will explore the Social Norms Approach to violence prevention. Focusing on best practices in prevention, misperceptions and key concepts of social norms theory and bystander intervention, the event will provide attendees with actionable steps to make a difference in their work and in community.
