FARGO — The Masonic Center will be open to residents next Thursday night, Sept. 23, so they can learn more about the organization and view their historic artwork and artifacts.
The event will be from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. with a social gathering to follow at the El Zagal Shrine next door to the center at 1405 Third St. N.
Carol Gillett said it's a chance to learn about how the organization works on personal leadership and supports various charities.
The group also supports a language center in the building where technicians work with children who have speech difficulties before they start school.
"We have some hand-made and painted backdrops, used in various ceremonies, in our building which are over 100 years old and are truly local treasures," Gillett wrote in an email. "The artifacts we have to display date back many years and may be of interested to many in our area."
The organization is also personally inviting members of the history and art departments at local colleges and high schools to the event.
