FARGO — Swing sets, slides and seesaws across Fargo-Moorhead are open for business.
The Fargo Park District, in cooperation with Fargo Public Schools, is opening playgrounds at its more than 100 parks on Thursday, May 21.
The Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead park districts both opened their playgrounds May 15 after closing them during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic in the area.
“In making the decision to reopen, the Park Board underscored the important value playgrounds and play structures provide, especially for children,” the Fargo Park District said in a news release.

With playgrounds and athletic facilities open for use in Fargo, the park district encourages park-goers to maintain social distancing practices, keeping 6 feet between others. The park district also recommends using hand sanitizer after touching equipment.
Park officials also request that users disinfect equipment before and after use, if possible.
“We are confident that as long as the public can follow the guidelines established by the CDC and North Dakota Department of Health, playgrounds can be opened for public use.” West Fargo Park District Executive Director Barb Erbstoesser said.
Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo are all allowing activities for up to 10 people. Fields can be reserved from the park districts so long as 10 people or fewer are participating in activities.
Bathrooms and water fountains are not available at this time.
