MOORHEAD — You've heard it before, a dog is a man's best friend. But today's First News Feel Good shows how a dog can also be a dog's (or cat's) best friend.

Since February, the Moorhead Police Department has worked with 4 Luv of Dog rescue in Fargo to create "K9 Kash's Friend of the Week" — an effort to help local cats and dogs find their furever homes.

Every Thursday, the department posts a pet available for adoption. Of the six pups posted so far, three have made their way to their forever homes. The three remaining — Tahiti, Hollis and Skittles — are still searching for their new families. To take a look at K9 Kash's Friend of the Week, check out the Moorhead Police Department's Facebook page every Thursday morning.
