WADENA COUNTY, Minn. — Last week, we highlighted a Becker County K-9 officer who was able to get his vest, thanks to a generous donation from a Hawley, Minn., resident.

This week, First News Feel Good is bringing us to Wadena County, where another protected pup is suiting up and reporting for duty.

The Wadena County Sheriff posted this photo of K-9 Nitro sporting his new bullet and stab-proof vest. It's the exact same as Becker County officer Durman .

Both pups received their custom-fitted body armor, which can cost anywhere from $1700 to $2300, through Vested Interest in K9s Inc., a nonprofit that provides life-saving armor for four-legged officers across the U.S. Since 2009, more than 4200 vests have been donated to K-9 officers, and countless lives have been saved.
