FARGO — It started with one yellow crayon back in 2012. Now, it's flourishing.
The Youthworks house in Fargo is stuffed with thousands of donations for the homeless, ranging from food and clothes, to gifts and toys. The nonprofit helps runaway, trafficked and homeless youth in North Dakota.
Members of the nonprofit collected gifts from Nov. 1 to Dec. 7, and are surprised that so much was donated in such a short amount of time. The gifts were donated by members of the community. The gifts will be given to thousands of children in need across the region.
Sue Baron, creator of the Golden Drive, said the gift giveaway connecting people and groups to bring awareness to homelessness. She said she can't believe how far it has come.
