Grand Forks United Way winter wish list toy drive underway

GRAND FORKS — It's the giving season and Grand Forks residents have a chance to help local children in need.

WDAY is working with United Way to collect donations for its winter wish list toy and winter clothing drive.

The Whalen's Moving and Storage truck is parked in front of the WDAY building on South Washington in Grand Forks awaiting donations.

There are more than 800 children hoping to get toys, as well as gloves, hats and winter weather gear. There are even more kids on the waiting list.

David Sena, CEO of Grand Forks United Way, said they're hoping to help as many kids as possible this year.

"With COVID and all of the things that happened in 2020, we know a lot of families have been having a very difficult time. So we want to make sure that we're helping families really enjoy the end of this year through the holiday season," Sena said.

Gifts can be brought to the WDAY parking lot Monday through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Dec. 11. Monetary donations can also be made online at https://www.givegfegf.org/ .
