WEST FARGO — Clean Up Week in Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo starts on May 1 and both homeowners and city crews are getting ready.
Some people have already started making curbside piles a week and a half early.
Logan Jacobson, the Sanitation Manager for the City of West Fargo, says their crews are getting ready as well, preparing the landfill for the incoming waste and bracing for the long work days.
He says those participating should make sure to separate material types. This means things like household waste, wood furniture, and anything metal should be in separate piles at least 3 feet apart from each other.
Jacobson also says to make sure you use disposable containers when bundling materials to put on the boulevard.

"If it's out there, it's going to disappear. So if you want containers back, please use something different."
He also encourages people to be patient once Clean Up Week begins.
"We have multiple trucks coming through, each picking up different items, so you won't see it all disappear when one truck comes. Keep that in mind as the day goes on."
Cleanup week in May 1 to May 5 in West Fargo. Fargo and Moorhead will both be alternating their Clean Up Week collections over two weeks; either collecting from May 1 to May 5, or May 8 to May 12, depending on each neighborhood's recycling schedule.
