Horace, Wolverton American Legion posts to hold Memorial Day events

The American Legion posts in Horace, North Dakota, and Wolverton, Minnesota, are planning a number of events for Memorial Day on Monday, May 30.

HORACE, N.D. — The American Legion posts in Horace, North Dakota, and Wolverton, Minnesota, are planning a number of events for Memorial Day on Monday, May 30.

The Horace American Legion Post 293 is planning brief ceremonies at the following Horace-area cemeteries at the noted times:

Clemenson Cemetery, 9:05 a.m.; St. Benedict Cemetery, 9:30 a.m.; Lower Wild Rice Cemetery, 9:50 a.m.; Salem Cemetery, 10:15 a.m.; Horace Lutheran, 10:30 a.m.; Sheyenne River Cemetery, 10:50 a.m.; St. John's Cemetery, 11:15 a.m.; and Brink Cemetery, 11:40 a.m.

The Legion post will also hold a brief ceremony at the veterans memorial in Horace at 11:50 a.m.

A potluck lunch will be held at 12:15 p.m. at the Horace Senior Center.

In case of rain, all services will be combined at noon at the senior center.

Also, the Nelson-Otteson American Legion Post 370 will hold a Memorial Day celebration at 11 a.m. on May 30 at the Salem Cemetery in Wolverton.

There will be a short program followed by a lunch at Faith Lutheran Church in Wolverton.

In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at Faith Lutheran Church.
