MOORHEAD — The classical studies department at Concordia College will present the I.F. Grose Memorial Lecture in Classical Studies at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the Morrie Jones Conference Center A-B, Knutson Campus Center .
The lecture, "Birthing Ideas in Ancient Greece and the Modern World: a Personal and Professional Story," is free and open to the public.
Yurie Hong, chair and associate professor of classics at Gustavus Adolphus College, will speak about ancient and modern reproductive medicine. Her research focuses on representations of pregnancy and childbirth in ancient Greek literature.
Hong earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Washington, Seattle.
