Independence Day closures in Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo

Many local offices, libraries and garbage routes will not be operating in observance of Independence Day

FARGO — The following are closures within the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo community in observance of Independence Day.

Fargo

City of Fargo offices, Fargo Cass Public Health and all Fargo Public Library branches will be closed in observance of the Independence Day holiday on Monday, July 5. There will be no MATBUS paratransit services on Sunday. MATBUS services will resume as usual on July 5.

Monday garbage and recycling routes will be collected on Tuesday. All other routes will be collected on their regularly scheduled day. Please be aware the shift in route schedules may cause a slight delay in collection.

The Fargo Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste facility will both be closed on July 5.

Moorhead

The city offices of Moorhead will be closed Monday, July 5.

There will be no garbage or recycling pickup on Monday, and Monday's route will be picked up on Tuesday. Pickup will start at 4 a.m. on Tuesday. Place garbage out the night before to ensure pickup. The double route may cause some delays.

Lake Agassiz Regional Library in Moorhead will also be closed on Monday.

All Clay County Solid Waste facilities will be closed Saturday through Monday.

West Fargo

The City of West Fargo will close Monday. There is no garbage collection on that day. To accommodate the holiday, Monday and Tuesday garbage routes will be collected Tuesday. There are no changes to the recycling schedule.

The City Commission meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday has been canceled. The next City Commission meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 19.

On Monday, all municipal government buildings are closed to the public, including City Hall, Public Library, Sanitation, Public Works and the Transfer Station. Public safety agencies are in full operation, but the West Fargo Police and Fire Department buildings are closed to the public.
