A fundraiser to benefit Angela Tate will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Frazee Community Club, 114 Lake S. N. Proceeds from the free-will meal and cook-off, wine pull, bake sale and auction will help the family with medical and other expenses related to Angela’s battle with stage 4 colorectal cancer.

A fundraiser to benefit Tricia Eback will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the El Zagal Shrine, 1429 3rd St. N., Fargo. Proceeds from the free-will spaghetti feed, silent auction, 50/50 raffle and bake sale will help the family with medical and funeral expenses related to Tricia’s uterine cancer and ruptured brain clot that caused her untimely death.

A "Pack the Ranch" fundraiser to benefit Candy Kempel will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the Casselton Pizza Ranch. Ten percent of all purchases will be donated to Kempel, a single mom struggling due to a lengthy hospital stay following a full-blown intestinal rupture.

A fundraiser to benefit Gary Kurtz will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the New Creation Lutheran Church, 295 Convey St. W., Perham, Minn. Proceeds from the spaghetti feed and bake sale will help Gary and his wife, Michelle, pay for medical bills. Gary is battling cancer for the second time and does not currently have insurance coverage.

Karen Schmitz, wife (Paul), mom to Abigail (20) and McKenzie (17), persevered at home and work while undergoing 13 rounds of chemotherapy for breast cancer before a reaction compromised her lungs, requiring weeks of hospitalization. Resulting lost wages and insurance coverage are devastating to this family.

Ashley Hoppe, Mapleton, N.D., wife (John), mom to McKenna (11), Madelyn (6) and Charleigh (3), was only 28 years old when her medical challenges began, requiring two surgeries to remove brain tumors. In 2020, she was diagnosed with breast cancer which became even more challenging when more brain tumors were found.
