Officials at National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) recently announced the names of semifinalists in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition. Local semifinalists include: Julie Sampson and Junting Shen, Davies High School; Martha Denton, Kristie Qiu and Benjamin Steffen, North High School; Grace Beauchamp and Maria Lusardi, Shanley High School; Malcolm Strand, South High School; Kamden Baer and Seth Benson, West Fargo Sheyenne High School; Michael Hall, Kindred High School.

 

Colin Kloster, a teacher at Fargo North High School is one of 114 teachers selected for a National History Day program titled Legacies of World War I. The program is a partnership between the U.S. World War I Centennial Commission and National History Day. Kloster will participate in webinars and discussions while learning about World War I with teachers from around the world.
