Native American Hall of Honor seeking nominations

BISMARCK — Nominations are now open for the North Dakota Native American Hall of Honor.

The Native American Hall of Honor is an annual program recognizing Native Americans who have well-represented their tribe and culture. The Hall of Honor is located in the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum in Bismarck.

The program recognizes achievements in four categories: arts and culture, athletics, leadership and military/veterans. Nominees can be living or deceased and two nominations will be accepted per category into the Hall of Honor. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Monday, March 2.

An induction ceremony will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, as part of the Tribal Summit and the United Tribes International Powwow. Inductees will be featured in an annual exhibit at the State Museum.
