FARGO — The Fargo-Moorhead Salvation Army kicked off their Red Kettle Campaign at West Acres Mall Friday, Nov. 12.
The Salvation Army was joined by local police, fire departments, and North Dakota State University's Brass Band to signal the start of their 2021 campaign.
All of the money raised goes towards giving clothes, food and toys for needy children. Their goal this year is to raise $900,000.
Volunteers say that Fargo is always a great place to find generous people.
"There's a lot of things we do in the community, but we can only do those things by the support of the community," said Salvation Army Major Abe Tamayo. "So we really find that greater Fargo to be a very exceptional area for giving to the salvation army."
