ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The Minnesota Highway Safety Center is offering four 55+ driver discount courses, all through distance learning and zoom.
The classes allow those drivers to save 10% on auto insurance. The first two courses offered are four-hour refresher courses from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 15. To maintain the discount, drivers must complete a four-hour refresher every three years.
A pair of eight-hour courses are offered from 5 to 9 p.m. both Oct. 19 and 20. Completion of an eight-hour course qualifies for the discount.
A Minnesota Highway Safety & Research Center certified instructor will update drivers on defensive-driving tips, changes in laws, vehicle technology and traffic safety. The cost of the four-hour refresher course is $22, and the eight-hour course is $26.
