Social Security Administration releases list of most popular baby names in 2021

Nationally, Liam was the most popular boy name and Olivia topped the list for girls. Read on to find out the names most popular in North Dakota and Minnesota.

FARGO — Olivia and Liam were the most popular baby names in the nation for the third year in a row, according to the Social Security Administration.

The 10 most popular boy names for 2021 were as follows:

  1. Liam
  2. Noah
  3. Oliver
  4. Elijah
  5. James
  6. William
  7. Benjamin
  8. Lucas
  9. Henry
  10. Theodore

The top girl names for 2021 were:

  1. Olivia
  2. Emma
  3. Charlotte
  4. Amelia
  5. Ava
  6. Sophia
  7. Isabella
  8. Mia
  9. Evelyn
  10. Harper

Oliver was the most popular boy name in Minnesota.

  1. Oliver
  2. Henry
  3. Theodore
  4. Liam
  5. Owen

Charlotte was the most popular girl name in Minnesota.
