FARGO — Olivia and Liam were the most popular baby names in the nation for the third year in a row, according to the Social Security Administration.

The 10 most popular boy names for 2021 were as follows:

  8. Lucas
  9. Henry
  10. Theodore

The top girl names for 2021 were:

  1. Olivia

Oliver was the most popular boy name in Minnesota.

Charlotte was the most popular girl name in Minnesota.

The Social Security Administration began compiling the baby name list in 1997. At the time of a child's birth, parents supply the name to the agency when applying for a child's Social Security card, thus making Social Security America's source for the most popular baby names.
