MOORHEAD – After sex-trafficking charges against him were dropped Monday, the day he was set to go on trial, a 25-year-old Twin Cities man faces a new rape charge and a sex-trafficking charge involving the same 13-year-old girl.

Prince Antonio Dequante Jones, of Brooklyn Park, Minn., is accused of raping the 13-year-old girl he and another woman allegedly trafficked for sex to a Moorhead police detective in June.

Jones was charged Wednesday morning in Clay County District Court with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct against a 13-year-old and with first-degree sex trafficking, both felonies.

Court documents filed with the charges say the 13-year-old girl told a victim and witness coordinator that Jones and a woman, Eyeesha Hinton, brought her to Moorhead from Minneapolis in early June to work as a prostitute.

After he checked all three of them into a Moorhead hotel room, Jones had sex with the girl while Hinton slept in the other bed, the girl allegedly told the coordinator.

Hinton also faces a first-degree sex trafficking charge.

Prosecutors had asked a judge to dismiss the sex-trafficking charge against Jones on Monday, the day a bench trial was set to begin.
