Bremer Bank meals campaign tops $96,000

During the annual Bremer Bank Meals for Many Campaign, the $2-for-$1 donation match up to $35,000 was met and exceeded again. An estimated $96,000 was raised during the two-week campaign for local Feeding America food banks and local food shelves in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin.

The total includes an additional $2,100 donated by Bremer as a result of a $1 donation per completion of an online hunger awareness quiz.

Bremer’s total donation over the nine years of the campaign has reached

$1.2 million.

During the campaign, Bremer employees in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin also raised money by sponsoring bake sales, hosting cook-outs and coordinating food drives.

Otter Tail Power Co., Fergus Falls, Minn., is donating funds to regional nonprofit organizations that serve children, farmers, wildlife and the hungry when customers enroll in the company’s electronic billing program.

The company donates $3 for each new ePay enrollment. The International Music Camp in North Dakota has received a $5,500 donation, which represents ePay enrollments for the first quarter of the company’s program. The donation will help support children’s musical education.

The following organizations will receive donations resulting from future enrollments:

  •  July through September, Farm Rescue, Jamestown, N.D., to help area farmers who need emergency assistance with planting, haying or harvesting.
  • October through December, Wild Turkey Federation in South Dakota, to support wildlife habitats.
  •  January through March, North Country Food Bank, Crookston, Minn., to enhance distributions to area food shelves.
