THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. — An employee at Sanford Health's Thief River Falls pharmacy has tested positive for COVID-19, the health care provider said Tuesday, April 21.
In response to the confirmed case, Sanford is testing pharmacy staff for coronavirus and cleaning the facility more frequently, according to a statement from spokesman Nathan Aamodt. The pharmacy is also following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state guidelines to protect employees.
The pharmacy had already been limiting patient access to the building and prescription pick-up to drive-thru service, Aamodt said.
Sanford is encouraging patients to have prescriptions mailed to their homes.
An initial statement reported a physician at the pharmacy tested positive for COVID-19.
