Winner: Bonanzaville USA
Location: West Fargo
This year a national award-winning TV program, "Antiques Roadshow" chose Bonanzaville as one of their filming sites.
Executive Director Brenda Warren said national recognition like that is satisfying but one of her favorite parts of her job is teaching local schoolchildren.
"Our guests enjoy experiencing the feeling of walking into historic buildings which range from a humble homesteader cabin to the elegant Houston Mansion," said Brenda Warren, executive director of Bonanzaville. "Compliments vary from tourists telling us we have one of the most impressive small museums they have ever visited, to the children loving the hands-on experiences they get in our buildings such as the Telephone Museum and the Airplane Museum."
Warren said her team's dedication to special programming and historic preservation is one of the many reasons why Bonanzaville has won Best Museum or Gallery three years in a row. Their shared love continues to drive her staff and Fargo-Moorhead residents.
"Visitors from our community support Bonanzaville’s mission in preserving history for generations to come," Warren said.
