HANKINSON, N.D. — The Dakota Nation Gaming Enterprise is closing its three casinos in North Dakota and South Dakota in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19, the illness caused by coronavirus.
The Dakota Magic Casino & Hotel in Hankinson, Dakota Connection Casino in Sisseton, S.D., and the Dakota Sioux Casino in Watertown, S.D., will shut down for at least 14 days starting at noon on Sunday, March 22, management said in a statement.
After 14 days, management will evaluate whether the casinos will reopen.
There have been no cases of COVID-19 at any of Dakota Nation Gaming Enterprise establishments, but the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Administration moved to close casinos out of caution, management said.
